About Ourselves

Sheila Cameron

Sheila Cameron was brought up in Lochaber where for a while she was a successful and well known runner. A Geography graduate she worked as a teacher in Kenya and Scotland for about 20 years. A keen walker she has been up most of Scotland’s munros and a few other peaks such as Pt Lenana of Mt Kenya, Mount Elgon and Rysy in the High Tatra. Her real passion is for horses, especially Anglo Arabs. We are in a position to accept visiting horses. She also likes dogs and has an inexplicable affection for beagles.

Ronald Cameron

Ronald Cameron a native of Banavie, living in the house which his family began to build round about 1820. It’s probably not finished.

A History graduate, he taught in Kenya, England and Scotland for 25 years. Has climbed extensively in Scotland, Kenya, The Caucuses and the Alps. Completed the munros about ten years ago. Active white water kayaker and ski tourer. Gaelic speaker with a good knowledge of Lochaber History.

As a couple we have a lively awareness of the outdoor scene in Lochaber and, if required, we can point our guests in the direction of lots of good walks, climbs, paddles, quiet beaches etc.
